L2R goes interstate – Impact After Dark gets a dose of dance!

Updated: 7 days ago

In March 2026, L2R Dance was invited to attend the Impact Investment Summit Asia Pacific on Gadigal land alongside 750+ investors, innovators and changemakers, exploring real ways to scale capital for real impact: from climate and healthcare to emerging tech and communities.

The summit provided an opportunity for L2R to be part of larger conversations around the future and potential scale of art for social impact. As L2R's CEO and founder, Jacinda Richards observed,

"Arts organisations are operating in a constrained and uncertain funding environment, where traditional income streams, such as general donations, philanthropy, government grants, and ticket sales, are increasingly volatile. In this context, looking beyond the cultural sector is not just beneficial, but essential."

"By drawing on approaches from sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, and social enterprise, arts organisations can diversify revenue streams, strengthen long-term sustainability, and reduce dependence on any single source of income. These cross-sector insights can also drive innovation in how cultural value is created, delivered, and monetised within the broader creative economy."

With support from Creative Australia, L2R's General Manager, Lucy, and Jacinda attended the two-day Impact Summit, followed by seven of our finest L2R dancers (Ligi, Ryan, Trace, Urlik, Monique, Em and Hëna) invited to perform at the Impact After Dark event at the Australian National Maritime Museum, set against Eora’s iconic harbour backdrop.

Our first interstate gig was a resounding success, bringing that signature L2R energy, infectious attitude, and joyful vibes to an unsuspecting but delighted crowd!

"This is a very tough crowd to bring a performance like that, and they got them cheering. It's great – it's really something different!" Audience Member

For L2R, attending the Impact Summit was a powerful opportunity to connect with cross-sector leaders, explore alternative financial models, and gather ideas to support a more resilient and sustainable future for our work. Just as importantly, it gave our dancers the chance to perform in front of new and diverse audiences, expanding visibility, building connections and sharing the L2R spirit beyond our usual spaces.

L2R loves working in corporate spaces to shake up the workplace! It was wonderful to witness nearly all attendees get up and groove, with L2R’s experienced dancers guiding them through a few iconic moves. Big smiles were seen across the entire venue as the room came alive with movement and joy. Who doesn’t love a Soul Train moment?
